Waxed linen thread and needles

For everyone having trouble finding waxed linen thread in Sonoma County, let me say that we buy it online and there are sources listed in older posts. BUT you can substitute perle cotton for waxed linen thread and you can run the perle cotton through beeswax and you are home free.  Perle cotton is fairly easy to find around the county as is beeswax.  Right in Sebastopol we have a store called Bee Kind and you can easily get beeswax there or at most farmers' markets.   The needles you want to buy are crewel needles and you will be much happier if you dull the points by scraping them on sandpaper.
